Boosting User Engagement with Voting Feature on Webflow

For the second year in a row, we had the pleasure of managing an Awards project for one of our clients. What an exciting endeavor! We love it when our clients combine Webflow with other products to push their websites beyond the ordinary. In this case, we used Jetboost's Favoriting tool to enable the voting functionality.

Here's how it worked for our client

Our client's product is an application that connects pool builders with people who want to have a pool. According to the contest rules, each registered pool builder could submit one pool in each category for a nomination. All entries were beautifully displayed on the website, and people could vote for their favorites. At the end of the voting period, the votes were counted internally, and winners in each category were announced.

Is the effort worth it for the website owner?

We believe it is! The Awards attracted large numbers of website visitors who were not just browsing, but actively engaged. Google loves it when people are engaged. Every year, the winners' announcement is a big event covered by media nationwide, which increases brand awareness and trustworthiness. It has proven to be an excellent way to attract pool builders to create accounts and use the app to be matched with clients. Every entrant receives a stunning page on the website to showcase their pool, making it a great way to highlight their services.

From a technical standpoint, how difficult is it to set up everything?

Let's say it's a moderate amount of effort for the first year, but for subsequent years, we can reuse the established infrastructure, saving a lot of time. There are three main aspects to managing this project:

Database Management: All entries were organized and gathered in Airtable and then synced with Webflow CMS. The complexity of the CMS setup will vary depending on how much information you want to display about each entry.

Frontend Development (Webflow): This project included three additional pages—one with general information about the Awards, another with all entries, and a template page for each entry.

Favoriting Functionality: This was set up with Jetboost and took literally 30 minutes, including testing.

Note: This example did not include membership integration. By default, a user's favorites are only stored in their browser. However, if you use Memberstack, MemberSpace, or Outseta, favorites can be saved to users' logins.

Other Possible Use Cases:

Internal Fun: Ugly Sweater Contest

With Christmas around the corner, why not host an ugly sweater contest for all employees? The only catch: management has to participate too! The content can be gated so only company-related individuals can see and vote, or we can make it public for everyone to enjoy. Your clients will surely appreciate this personal touch!

Client Engagement: Macaron Flavor Voting

Recently, we created a stunning website for Miranda, the macaron queen who bakes like a goddess. Her website features all the macaron flavors she offers. A great addition would be the ability for visitors to vote on which flavor to add to the package next!
